For Keagan Conder, the past six years at Life Christian Academy have brought personal growth, meaningful friendships, and a deepening relationship with Christ. Since joining LCA in seventh grade, Keagan has embraced opportunities to get involved in the school community, develop as a leader, and discover his passions.
Throughout his time at LCA, Keagan has participated in ASB and the Student Leadership Institute (SLI), focusing much of his energy on student life and contributing to the school community. However, when reflecting on his experience, Keagan points to his spiritual growth as one of the most significant changes in his life. "I used to not really be Christian at all, and now I am very much Christian," he shared. Through the opportunities and relationships he has experienced at LCA, Keagan has developed a stronger understanding of his faith and a desire to continue growing in his relationship with Christ.
One person who has played an important role in that journey is Mr. Johnson, who has mentored Keagan since seventh grade. Having had him as a teacher nearly every year, Keagan appreciates his steady presence, thoughtful advice, and willingness to invest in students. He describes Mr. Johnson as levelheaded, knowledgeable, and always interesting to talk to.
Beyond the classroom, Keagan has developed a passion for storytelling, particularly through film, television, and animation. An avid reader since childhood, he credits the Percy Jackson series with sparking his lifelong love of stories. Over the past few years, that interest has expanded into filmmaking and animation, shaping his future plans.
After graduation, Keagan hopes to attend either Savannah College of Art and Design or the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to pursue a career in film and television. He is especially interested in combining live-action filmmaking with animation to create compelling stories for audiences. Savannah is currently his first choice, in part because of its international study opportunities and connections to the animation industry.
As graduation approaches, Keagan knows leaving LCA means saying goodbye to the daily moments spent with friends who have become such an important part of his life. He describes his friend group as close-knit and says he will miss those relationships most.
When asked to complete the sentence, "LCA has taught me..." Keagan offered a simple but meaningful reflection: "How to grow as a person as a whole."
As Keagan prepares for his next chapter, he carries with him a stronger faith, lasting friendships, and a passion for bringing stories to life. We are excited to see how God continues to guide his journey and the stories he will one day share with the world.
