Membership in the International Thespian Society is earned. Students must accumulate at least 10 Thespian points, representing approximately 100 hours of quality work in theatre. Those hours may include acting, technical theatre, production work, leadership, and other significant contributions to theatrical productions.
This year's inductees have each invested extensively in LCA's theatre program as well as additional theatrical opportunities beyond campus. Sophia Hickly, James Porter, Claire Finnigan, Sara Schambier, and Iliana Rivera have contributed through performances, technical work, community theatre experiences, and participation in opportunities such as the State Thespian Showcase. Their induction recognizes not only talent, but also the commitment, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance required to bring a production to life.
During the September 29 ceremony, each student participated in the traditional Thespian induction pledge and received a certificate, membership card, Thespian pin, and yellow rose marking their official entrance into the society.
The ceremony also reflected on the Thespian motto, "Act well your part; there all the honor lies." The words remind us that theatre is about much more than receiving applause or standing in the spotlight. Every role, both onstage and behind the scenes, matters. Each performer, technician, designer, stage manager, and crew member contributes to something larger than themselves.
We are proud to celebrate Sophia, James, Claire, Sara, and Iliana for the time, talent, and dedication they have invested in theatre at LCA. Their induction into the International Thespian Society is a well-earned recognition of their accomplishments and an exciting milestone in their continued artistic journeys.
