Senior Spotlight | Tag Paddock

For LCA senior Tagney Paddock, being an Eagle is a family tradition. His connection to Life Christian Academy began long before he entered sixth grade. His parents met while attending LCA, and several family members have walked the same halls, creating a legacy that makes his seven years at the school especially meaningful.

Since joining LCA in sixth grade, Tagney has played football, baseball, and wrestled. Wrestling has become a particular passion, and he especially enjoys the competitive atmosphere of home dual meets when the Eagles face off against another team. With his senior season approaching, Tagney has set an ambitious goal: earning a spot on the podium at the state championships, with hopes of claiming a state title.

Looking back on his time at LCA, Tagney recognizes patience as one of the most important qualities he has developed. He also appreciates the relationships he has built with teachers and staff, particularly Mr. Johnson, whom he describes as being "like an uncle."

"He's really cool. I can talk to him just like I talk to a friend," Tagney shared.

Tagney also values the Christian community that has surrounded him throughout middle and high school. Being part of a school where his friends and their families share his faith has encouraged him and reinforced the importance of surrounding himself with people who share his values.

As graduation approaches, Tagney is considering two paths for his future. He may attend Grand Canyon University to study business or pursue an internship with his family's construction company. Both opportunities would let him explore his interests and start building a foundation for his career.

When asked what he will miss most about LCA, Tagney reflected on the school's significance to his family.

"The school is very nostalgic," he shared. "I have a lot of family that have gone here as well. The school itself is a very large memory in my family."

With generations of family history woven into his LCA experience, Tagney will graduate carrying memories of friendships, athletic competition, personal growth, and a community that has been part of his family's story for years.

We look forward to cheering Tagney on during his final wrestling season and celebrating all that lies ahead.
