Why does my child play so much?
Research has shown that play is the most effective way to teach early learners! The Preschool classroom is carefully planned to provide a variety of learning centers and interest areas that are equipped with age appropriate, educational play materials and equipment. These activities are provided in the Preschool program to help develop physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills in the child.

What extended care options are there?
For an additional fee, students can attend Before School Care from 6:30-8:20 a.m. or After School Care from 3:00-5:45 p.m.

What curriculum do you use?
The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool: Our program will use The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum, which features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical-thinking skills.

Learning without Tears: Get Set for School® is an award-winning PreK curriculum that focuses on playful learning to develop coloring, drawing, counting, building, and handwriting readiness skills.

Does my child need to be fully potty trained?
Yes, based on our license and requirements from the Department of Children, Youth, and Families, all children must be full potty trained.

Is there a nap time?
A rest period will be offered to all children under five years of age, who remain in care for more than six hours or show a need to rest. Alternative quiet activities will be available for those children who are unable to nap or who no longer need a nap. We will work with you to discuss your child’s sleep patterns and needs. We provide a mat and sheet and ask that you provide a blanket or something similar to help soothe your child.

What qualifications do the teachers/staff have?
All staff follow the requirements set by the DCYF. Each staff member is First Aid and CPR certified. The teachers engage in yearly training as well as continuing education.
