Assignment

Bonjour classe!  Great job working with yesterday's material and assignments!  Today we are focusing on how the indefinite articles (un, une, des) change in a negative sentence.  We already did a little of this orally when I asked you questions like:  Est-ce que tu as un chat?  Oui, j'ai un chat./ Non, je n'ai pas de chat. So here's the assignment for today, Tuesday, April 7th:  Read over carefully and study p.156 "L'article indéfini dans les phrases négatives".  Read through the notes and examples that I have prepared for you.  They are attached in a document below.  You will also find a review worksheet on yesterday's lesson attached below (working with definite and indefinite articles:  le, la, l', les  and un, une, des). Complete this handout and send it to me.  Also write out textbook exercise #10 p.156 and exercise #11 p.157. For exercise #11, write both the question and the answer. Email your work to me. Then complete the additional practice worksheet attached below, re-writing the sentences in the negative. Have a great day, and let me know if you have any questions! We will Zoom on Wednesday, April 8th to discuss and practice all of this together.  Watch for the invitation in your LCA email.

Assignment

Bonjour classe!  J'espère que vous avez passé de bonnes vacances!  (I hope you had a good vacation!) Comment ça va? Moi, ça va bien!
Just to remind you, we've been working our way through Lesson 10....learning the irregular verb "avoir" (to have):  j'ai, tu as, il/elle a, nous avons, vous avez, ils/elles ont.  Hopefully you have memorized those forms, and you know what each one means.  We also did a review of our indefinite articles (un/une), the words for "a" or "an", and our definite articles (le, la, l') which mean "the".  Today we are going to continue to look at these articles but will add their plural forms: "des" (some) and "les" (the).  We will also learn how the French make nouns plural.....they typically add the letter "s" to the end of the noun, though it is not pronounced. So here's your assignment for today, Monday April 6th:  Carefully read over textbook pages 154-155.  You can also watch the following 2 videos for added information and examples:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=054MD3i3RDE  and  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw1sORGoEOY  Please read through the attached notes and examples (attached handout).  Also complete the attached translation exercise and then write out textbook exercise #6 p.155 and #8 (write out using complete sentences). Have a good day!  I miss you all.  We will most likely zoom on Tuesday and then maybe again on Friday.  Check your LCA email regularly for additional information.
