Early Childhood January Newsletter
Happy New Year!!!!
We have spent the first part of this school year working on and building our Social and Emotional development skills.
This is a major part of our Early Childhood Education program. We recognize that building these skills creates the ability in each child to then feel comfortable to branch out and expand on other areas of learning. When children have grown in their social emotional development, they are comfortable and ready to learn, explore, and discover. This is the foundation they need for present learning to take place and to develop skills they will carry with them throughout their entire life.
You may have noticed your child developing in this area, or have seen your child's teacher working to build a good relationship with each student. We want everyone to be comfortable and happy to be at school. We hope the children are learning how to communicate with each other, share their needs and concerns, and are learning how to share and work together. They are learning what it means to be a friend and have a friend! They are also learning how to cooperate and work together with a whole group of kids!
We are purposeful as to how we set up each classroom for learning and play, and which activities we offer in each class. This helps us develop these social emotional skills.
All of the children are doing great! We are so proud of your kiddos. They're having fun and working hard. We're looking forward to really working on developing their learning and discovery opportunities, now that we have that firm social emotional development and have assessed where each child is at.
Thank you for your involvement and support in your child's education. We're so glad you chose LCA!
Blessings in this New Year!
