Great work! I cannot believe it, but we are done with school. I am so proud that we all finished strong. Thank you Jesus! This is definitely a year that we will all remember. May the maturity, character development, life skills, sweet family time, and rest that you got during this season propel you into greatness in the future. How is everyone feeling? I want to know! What are you longing to do more of workout wise? How are you mentally, are you dragging are you alert? I am always talking with you all daily and that is how I determine workouts and gauge where we are at and where we should go next, I want to have this live conversation with you, so let's have a quick ZOOM tomorrow! We will also be talking about your final project for PE. Yes, you will have one! Seniors especially, yours is due on the 29th. The rest of you, it is due on June 5! Please do not freak out, it is easy!
 
Your workout today: Leg Day!
  1. Warm up with 2 rounds of the "Piece of Cake Workout."
  2. Complete the "Leg Shred" workout. Please do all of the lunges 20 on each side x 3, then move on to reverse lunges, single leg bridges, wall sit, and leg raises.
  3. Please stretch today using "Care Package Stretches."
REMEMBER: I want 30 minutes of non-stop workout, it does not have to be about speed. BUT, you need to find a pace that works for you, that is not slow motion, so that you also are getting cardio. Make good choices. 
 
IMPORTANT NOTE: We are going to do a Zoom meeting tomorrow, YES, you still have to run, but only a mile.

I love this workout! Lets see if we are stronger this time!
If you feel like you can do more than 5 sets, go for it!

If you are on set #3 and 30 minutes have passed, you can stop!
BUT do not stop early, you can do this!
I want 30 minutes of non-stop workout, it does not have to be about speed.
Find a pace that works for you so that you also are getting cardio...all of this is up to you!

Your workout today: Full Body Day!
 
Morning everyone! I pray that you are doing well and that you are motivated today to keep yourself in shape during quarantine. This too shall pass, I pray, and we will soon be back and LCA will need you in tip top shape for sports and life! So keep up the good work, it will all pay off in the end. I am so proud of you all!
 
Remember to do the workout for 30 minutes! And you may NOT move like a snail. Move at a pace that also gives you a good cardio workout. 
  1. Warm up today with the Better Balance workout (1-2 sets on each leg). 
  2. Then do as many rounds as you can in the Powerbuilt Workout in 30 minutes. (5 sets minimum but try for 7) You can do this!

Your workout today: Run Day w/ 10 min AB Finish
  1. Run for 30 minutes today! NO EXCUSES! Not one mile, not 15 minutes, I want you running or at least jogging for 30 whole minutes! You need to get at least 3 miles. a 10 minute mile is NOT HARD...this is a fast walk you guys! Most of you can run WAY faster than this, please do, push yourself, do not settle for half way!
  2.  Stretch when you are done using Care Package Stretches.
 
TURN IN PROCEDURES: Screen record your RUNNING APP in Flipgrid, if you cannot do this...DO NOT VIDEO YOUR FEET, just send in RUN DAY VERIFICATION FORM, with parent signature please. If you do not do this, I will not give you credit! Thank you.

Your workout today: Arm Day w/ AB Warm Up
  1. Warm up today with the Classic Abs workout (3 sets). This should be super fast for most of you! 
    • So total you would do 10x3 (3 sets) = 90 sit ups and 4x3 (3 sets) = 36 sitting twists
  2. Then do as many rounds as you can in the Punch Out Workout in 30 minutes. (4 sets minimum for most)

Thank you to everyone that came to our live kickboxing class yesterday! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I got a great cardio workout and today I am sore, not super sore, but my bum and my upper body from punching the air (LOL) is actually sore! 
 
Your workout today: David Workout because it is Leg Day today! OR there is a Push Up Day option for those that did kickboxing ONLY!
 
David Workout:
Please complete 30-40 minutes of this workout. You should be able to do 5 sets or more. Most of you are level III (on this workout). Try to strive for 5-7 sets.
 
Push Up Variations Choice:
Please complete 6 of each of the 16 different push up variations. You will need to take 30 second breaks as needed. This will end up being 96 push ups! You can do it!
NOTE: You may choose to do this push up workout today ONLY if you were in kickboxing yesterday. If you did push ups yesterday, your choice today is the DAVID WORKOUT! The kickboxing class was very LEG heavy, that is why I wanted to give it as an option for those that may want to give their legs a rest today! 
 
Please take some tome to stretch today, so that you are read to go and recovered for run day tomorrow!

About Heidi: I met Heidi at the YMCA years ago when I was coaching gymnastics. I was an athlete looking for a challenging workout and Heidi's class was the BEST CLASS at the YMCA! Push Up Choice:

Today is ARM DAY! Please do this workout for 30 minutes. You should complete 3 rounds of the Arms 360, then 1-3 sets of the Abs of Steel. The arm workout is relatively easy, so I want you to get some core in as well. You can add 10lb weights to the exercises on the arm workout if you have some. If not, find something to hold in your home that will not drop and break something, or do it without weights. If you do not have weights, increase the numbers on the exercises. 

I am going to do: 20 dips each time, then 50-100 of the arm exercises with no weight.

Good Morning awesome students!
 
Today is leg day! I hope that you are feeling sore today and you are proud of the work you are putting in! You are not just sitting in place at home and becoming a blob fish. (if you do not know what this is, google it, it is the coolest fish ever) I am proud that you are not a couch potato all day long! One day, you will love soreness, it is never comfortable, but it means what you did yesterday mattered and today you are stronger for the wrok you put in yesterday. You should be proud of yourself. If we were at school I would have done my hip focus day today, so I found this great Pilates video that explains the tension men (girls this is good for you too, I did the video myself and I loved it) usually have in their hips and the importance of focusing on this regularly. As a collegiate and pro athlete, you will need to make this a daily focus to stay at peak performance. I am sure missing you all and pray that you are enjoying this family time. Take advantage of this slower pace, hug your parents and siblings. Have them work out with you! I have seen some family videos of our students working out with their whole family and it is an absolute joy to see that taking place. Jesus has purpose in this time, seek his face and figure out what he would like YOU to do in this season.

Welcome back from Spring Break! I pray that you are all healthy and that your families are healthy! I miss you all so much and wish we could work out all together, but even more, I want us all to do our part to help kill this awful virus that is killing thousands, and because of that, we will stay home! 
 
Working out seems futile in this time, I feel like I just need to pray because my heart is breaking for the families that have lost loved ones! But the Lord reminded me that my part in this tragedy is to help those who are at home and trying to make it through. Casey, you have the ability with my strength and wisdom to help people be mentally tough, to think the right stuff, help them get moving and exercise to releases endorphins, relieve stress, cortisol, fear, and lead them to peace and joy.
 
So my prayer for you today is that you release your fears, submit them to God as you work out, lay them down at His feet because only He, can carry that fear. You were not created to carry fear! Let it go, God will exchange that fear and give you peace and joy, even in this hard time. May you experience peace and joy today students!

Welcome to PE. We will have daily workouts that I will print out and give to you to complete. When you are done with them, I would like you to keep them in a notebook. We will have graded notebook checks, so stay on top of this for a good grade in PE! 
 
1. Pease get a 1/4 inch three ring binder for your daily workouts!
2. Please put the cover provided below in the front of your notebook with you name on it. Thanks!
3. Please have parents sign emergency information form for Coach Casey's emergency notebook.
4. Today you will get a locker for PE, please put your combination in a safe place.
5. PE attire can be purchased at the eagles nest.
6. Miss a day in PE? Print out the PE SHORT TERM ABSENCE / PE MAKE UP ASSIGNMENT form below and you can get all of your points back after you complete it. You must turn this in within 2 weeks of your absence. You are required to make up work in all classes, including PE.
