Everyone,
I wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you for sharing this school year with me. I have appreciated every one of the individuals I have had the honor of teaching about God's Creation thru science. If there is one lesson to remember, always be in awe of the massive world He made for us, never stop trying to understand more and more. And don't forget to thank God from time to time.
For those seniors who have moved on, I wish you a future of love and success. Make sure you come and visit for lunch one of these days. For everyone else, I can't wait for us all to be back together again in a few months.
Always,
Dr. Spence Wieman
Due:
Review Week
Team,
For this week, I'd like you to go back thru the videos and re-watch as many of them as you can handle, in preparation for the final. Reminder, all the final exam questions will come directly from the videos. As always, I enjoy answering your questions.
I will email the final exam directly to each student on Monday with some additional instructions.
Good Luck!

Congratulations team,
We have made it to the last chapter of the textbook. Who'd have thought we could make it. All the time and hard work has, I hope, created in you a massive sense of awe for your Creator. The beauty of His work and the complexity of His universe is virtually unbelievable.
This last topic is perfect for this reason. General Relativity is likely the most confusing understanding of reality we have come across yet.
Vocabulary: General Relativity, Acceleration, Gravity
Homework, page 659: 1, 6, 8, 12
Celebrate with me. This past weekend my daughter graduated college and I had the honor of swearing her in as a 2LT in the Army.
Due:
Team,
Attached are the boards for our Zoom class today, that was cancelled.
Board #1 will give you some help with the homework if you're having problems.
Board #2 goes over the final exam. We will only go over this semester. Most important thing to remember. All the questions on the final will be taken directly from the videos. I covered the topics I thought were most important.
It will be an open book test, but not an open classmate test. You will have from 25-28 MAY to complete the test.
For the procrastinators among us, there isn't a late turn in. You must have it turned in by the end of 28 MAY, Thursday.
Due:
Alright gang, its finally here. We're talking about relativity. This is where God's Creation gets really interesting.
The video is posted.
Vocabulary: Frame of Reference, Space-Time, Time Dilation, Length Contraction
Homework (page 643): 1, 9, 12, 16
(page 645): 3, 4, 8, 10
The last picture is what my kids are doing while I'm doing lessons.
Due:
This is a fun class to lecture on.
Take some time to realize the magnitude of God's Creation, the amount of power He put into the littlest things.
Vocabulary: Fission, Fusion, Critical Mass, Chain Reaction
Homework, Exercises: 1, 11, 18, 20
Due:
Zoom class is cancelled for Friday, 1 MAY
Friday is an off day for the students.
I will miss you guys again but I'm sure you will appreciate the time off.
See you all next week.

Gang, unfortunately Friday is a off day for students.
I will miss seeing all your faces this week, but I'm sure you will appreciate the time off.
Due:
Team, Chapter 33: Atomic Nucleus and Radioactivity
We're getting into some cool stuff now, understanding how radiation works.
Do gamma rays really turn people into the Incredible Hulk? Unfortunately not.
Before you watch the video, Vocabulary: Electromagnetic Radiation, Alpha Particles, Beta Particles, Transmutation
Homework, Page 595: 2, 6, 10, 14
Due:
Chapter 32: The Atom and the Quantum
Before you watch the video, vocabulary: Quantum Mechanics, Classical Mechanics
After you watch the video, homework, Exercises, page 576: 12, 14, 25, 33
See you all on Friday.
Due:
Team,
Here are the boards from yesterday's class.
Take a minute to review the second board, that's some pretty advanced stuff.

Happy Easter LCA family
He is Risen
"Being an Intentional Christian"
I posted a recorded sermon from a couple years ago, in case you need encouragement.
Especially now, we need to be intentional about our relationship with Jesus. It's easy to lose yourself in the isolation.
(Its not an Easter message, but I don't have that many of the old sermons recorded.)
Due:
Physics Semester Review: Part 1
This lesson will review Chapters 22-25: Electricity and Magnetism,
you tube search: Spence Wieman
The wave nature of moving electrons - electricity
The spinning nature of electrons - magnetism
Some mechanisms involved in generating electricity for our use

Semester Review: Part 3
I have organized the Spence Wieman channel into a playlist, also called Spence Wieman. This should make the correct videos easier to find.
In this lesson we will cover Chapters 29-31
We will cover the topics: Wave Superposition
Particle Excitation
Uncertainty

Assignment
Team,

Assignment
Hey team, had some trouble with uploading the file (too big), so I started my own youtube channel.
In your you tube search, search for Spence Wieman
Inside the channel will be all the chemistry and physics chapter videos, uploaded as I create them.
Only rule, you are not allowed to make fun of them.
