Remote Journal #4—April 13-17

Here are your journal topics for this week. Remember ideally you will do this once a day. I would recommend copying and pasting it into a document that you open daily and then email to me on Friday. Do NOT do it in ONE SITTING!!! This is a practice I am trying to get you to engage in and doing it all at once does not reinforce that practice. Please also be mindful of the sentence count. :)

Monday, April 13th—I know we are already behind by a day—sorry! Tell me about your Easter. Did you do anything fun? New? Impactful? 5-7 sentences if you please and thank you.

Tuesday, April 14th—If you had to move to another State in the United States, where would you want to move and why? 5-7 sentences again would be grand

Wednesday, April 15th—It is tax day—does that mean anything to you? Seriously though—what are your thoughts on what is going to happen to the economy after the COVID thing is cleared? 5 sentences minimum—feel free to rant.

Thursday, April 16th—Think of two things you love about each season (hint—there are 4 seasons) and tell me what they are and why. So you should have at least 8 sentences but you will need more to do a good job.

Spring 1)

2)

Summer 1)

  2)

You get the picture…

Friday, April 17th—Wait for it…do you know what is coming? WRONG!!! No Free Write this week—just talk to me about something you LOVE! It could be a significant other, like your favorite Grammie, or a pet, or a place or a food or…write for 7 minutes about the thing you love.

Make sure to email this to me before 8:00PM— I love to read these with my Saturday morning coffee. :)

By reading 15 pages a day Monday through Friday, you will have the entire novel completed by April 21.If you would like to read more each day, that is up to you. I am only requiring 15 per day.
Begin by reading the page that says "Note on the 1987 Edition". Then keep going.
As you read, you will need to fill in the study guide that you received when you picked up your novel.
I will be uploading videos as we go through the novel for you to view to check your study guide answers. Expect the first one next Tuesday.
You will also want to use the multiple choice study guide (it looks like the quizzes we usually take) to quiz yourself to see how you are doing.
Please know there will be additional assignments attached to the reading so it is VERY IMPORTANT you keep up with the reading schedule.
