Important message for parents! PLEASE READ!!

Hey everyone! I had a great time meeting all of you for parent teacher conference. I am so excited and honored to partner with you in the great ministry of educating your children! Your feedback and communication has been extremely helpful.

A common theme I have heard from parents is that there is a desire for more communication from myself about things going on into the classroom. I am dedicated in honoring this request and will be putting forth my best efforts! I do however want to bring to your attention that if I do not email you back a reply within 24 hours, more than likely I have not received your email. We have a spam blocker for all Life Center and Life Christian Academy emails and sometimes it will "flag" emails sent from students and parents and I will not get a notification.

If this is the case I do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. If for some reason I do catch your email, please give me a call at the school and leave me a message on my voicemail at my office. Also, I would suggest sending emails through your child's student email account. Normally, the spam blocker does not filter out those emails since it's a LC/LCA email account. Communication is a foundation of any relationship and I want to make sure that you and I have a clear line of communication.

Please let me know if you have any further questions! HAVE A FANTASTIC THANKSGIVING!

Social Media Prompt (FINAL DRAFT DUE 11/30/18)

The Upsides and Downsides to Social Media

Topic: How is social networking changing the way people relate to each other, and can we say that it has led to an improvement in relationships? Overall, has social media impacted us in a positive or negative way?

Social networking has had a major influence on society in the 21st century, enabling citizens to engage with each other in radically new and different ways. According to Brown (2011), we can fall in love online, create friendships, attend parties in other countries – all without leaving the comfort (and anonymity) of our armchair. And while the Generation Ys and Xs in our society are leading the adoption of the emerging social networking websites, it has been noted that the older generations are now catching up, with the strongest recent growth in usage among the 55 and 65 age group (Burbary 2010). So what does this apparent ‘revolution’ mean for society?
