Headmaster's Welcome

Christian Greetings,

Psalm 78 directs us to listen to the Lord’s teaching and extend for the generations to come, “so each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting His glorious miracles and obeying His commands.” Each successive generation in turn receives the mantle of sharing this same teaching with their children.

I am indeed thankful for the opportunity to serve as Life Christian Academy’s Head of School for the past 25 years. I have partnered with our faculty and staff to convey God’s teaching through quality Christian education and striving to walk in the footsteps of David, who “cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.”

I am also pleased about a leadership transition plan that our Church Board and School Board have been working on to give impetus to the continued growth of our school. This plan has resulted in the selection and arrival of Gus Martin. Gus and his family arrived in Tacoma from Brisbane, Australia in April.

Beginning with this school year, Gus Martin will lead our students, faculty, staff, and families in the administration of our school. He has learned our culture, policies, process, and is well prepared to assume the mantle of leadership.

Our goal is to provide unwavering leadership to accomplish LCA’s ongoing mission of producing revolutionary, world changing graduates. God’s will and His work are carried out through the efforts of many, not limited by a time period or leader. In this season, as in all, we remain grateful for and confident in His steadfast faithfulness and provision.

Thanks for being an integral part of Life Christian Academy, founded in 1974 and bearing a significant commission for decades to come. I join you in prayer for the years ahead and this transition of leadership to be all that God desires for your school. To God be the glory!

Fly High Eagles,

Ross Hjelseth
