20th Century US History

School Closure Information Sheet

Hi all, please use this sheet for basic information regarding how we will run class during the duration of the Governor’s ordered shutdown. Please remember that this shutdown is only involving the physical campus-school is moving to an online format with assignments, grades, and specific expectations for both students and staff.

  1. All work assigned will be available on my teacher webpage on the LCA website. Check every day for updates, attached files, video links, etc. I AM responsible for making sure the teacher page is updated with material, YOU are responsible for completing that work.
  1. Work that will need to be turned in for evaluation/grading should be sent to me via OneNote (preferred) or my school email ([email protected]). For written work, you can send it to me as an attachment on the email (WORD Doc or PDF) but it must be able to be opened by me so use something that is general and will work without complications. If I cannot open an attachment, I will send it back with a reply and ask that you resubmit it in a different form. You may also simply send me an email with your response in the email itself. If in doubt, simply type your assignment response in the email itself, that way there are no problems.
  1. I will be posting with the assignments, due dates as well. The work will be spaced out with more than enough time to complete it-I know that you have 5 other core academic classes to work on, so I am not going to pile on the work. But what is assigned needs to be completed and submitted to me via email on time.
  1. Be sure you have your textbook with you at home. I will be assigning chapter readings and reflective questions on my teacher page. You will need the book so save yourself a trip into school and take it home before school goes online.
  1. All of you were assigned a RIGHT NOW MEDIA account last fall (they have a website and an app). Be sure to set up your account with it. It is free for our LCA families and the email you received from the school has log-in/signup information-it is very simple. I may be using some of the videos as assigned viewing for the class, along with other specific videos from YouTube. Watch for these assigned videos and any corresponding assignments on my teacher page.
  1. I will be posting various articles and essays for the class to read. Be sure that you read these as assigned and complete the reflection questions using the mentioned process via email discussed in point #2.
  1. I will be posting grades on PowerSchool as normal so you can stay caught up. If you need specific help with an assignment, please send me an email and we will work to clear up the issue. If you need to come in and get one on one help, send me an email and we will work out a specific time. The school is REQUIRING scheduled times so please don’t just drop in to see a teacher.
