- Description

In second year Spanish students will continue their study of the language and culture of the Spanish speaking world. Emphasis is on vocabulary and grammatical structures in all the basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and culture. This course adheres to the National Standards for Foreign Language Learning as established by the American Council on the Teaching of foreign Languages, as well as the Washington State World Languages Learning Standards. Developing oral pronunciation, as well as listening skills, is a focus of second year language as these functions are not only crucial to language development, but are often seen as the most useful skills of learning a second language. The second year student will be exposed to the Spanish speaking world and the many different cultures that it encompasses. Students will be asked to take a global view of these cultures and study their peoples in much the same way they would in a social studies classroom. Students will be expected to demonstrate basic vocabulary and grammatical structures, and to use the target language on a consistent basis.

Assignment
Hola estudiantes! I’m trying a new format for the homework page this week in an effort to work around some technical issues that the homework site has been experiencing. Please ignore the “Due____” that appears at the beginning of each entry. Our assignments, unless otherwise stated, will always be due the next school day by 9:00 AM. Please be sure to read the instructions for each day carefully.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR THIS WEEK: MAY 4TH – MAY 8, 2020: This week we will mainly be working on writing a rough draft of an original story in the past tense. We will do this work in the projects section of OneNote on the “Story Project Rough Draft” page. This page lays the project out in 7 steps.
Here are some other tools to help you with this project:
Projects “Story Project Sample” This page has an example of the project.
Projects- “Verb List A1” This page has a list of verbs from Avancemos Level 1
Projects- “Verb List A2” This page has a list of verbs from Avancemos Level 2
