Due:

Recommended Project Breakdown #4-7

Detailed step-by-step instructions are provided on the assignment page in OneNote. I recommend you complete the following tasks today. The entire project is due Tuesday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m.

Task #4:
Sort events onto Freytag plot charts according to the plot line each event best supports.

Task #5:
Space events so the inciting incident, climax, and resolution events are all placed in their corresponding section of the Freytag. Space remaining events between them according to how much time passes between each event. I recommend turning events vertically so the short side touches the plot line. This will allow you to fit all events neatly.

Task #6:
Glue or tape events to the chart (note: don't glue before you make sure everything is spaced how you want it)

Task #7:
Take a photo of your finished project and attach the photo to the assignment page in OneNote. Make sure the photo is clear enough that I can read it. This is how I will grade your work.

Due:

Recommended Project Breakdown #3b

NOTE: No School Today!  YAY! If you don't want to work today, complete this step before Friday or after Friday. This task is only recommended on Friday for students who want to divide the task into many small, very manageable parts.

Welcome to Online Learning!  We are going to do the best we can to continue improving our reading, writing, and communicating skills. I am here for you! If you are encountering difficulties that you can't troubleshoot on your own, please contact me via email, and I will do my best to help you.

I'll send out more info soon regarding our new rhythms and procedures, but in the meantime, please complete the following:
  1. Open the OneNote Freshman English notebook emailed to your school email account.  My current plan is to send and collect most of the work for this class via this notebook.
  2. Join our class on Remind.  I'll use this service and your email accounts to send you updates/reminders about due dates. You can also message me via Remind if that is easier than an email.  I'll check both communication streams regularly.  To join our class on Remind, text @lcaeng9 to the number 81010.
  3. I'm working on a way to go over study guides with you. Hopefully I will record myself talking about the chapter and you can add to your study guides just like we do in class.
